At FOBBS, we’re committed to ensuring every child sees themselves in the story of Britain. That’s why, during Windrush Week, we led a special learning session in one of our partner schools to explore how children respond to culturally rich content when delivered in an engaging, gamified way.
The session focused on the Windrush generation — an essential part of British history that is often overlooked in traditional curriculums. We designed the experience to not only introduce this historical moment but also to spark curiosity, reflection, and conversation among pupils.
Using a blend of storytelling, digital quizzes, paper-based activities, and group discussion, we created a space where children could learn, think, and express what they discovered. And the results were encouraging.
Children who started the session with no prior knowledge of Windrush left with clear takeaways and a sense of connection to the topic. Engagement was high, enjoyment was evident, and the learning stuck.
We’ve summarised what happened — and what we learned — in a full case study, which you can read here.
This is just one example of how the FOBBS platform brings cultural education to life in schools. It shows that when we mix relevance, representation, and a little bit of play — magic happens.Let’s keep building that magic, one quiz at a time.
